You can always expect the unexpected with JW Anderson. Like his designs or not he creates a buzz. A conversation. And whether this is over a collaboration with Topshop, a stunning womenswear line or over men waltzing down the catwalk in skirts; the fact that he divides people and gets them talking is something special.
This season for the first time ever JW Anderson has released a set of campaign images in collaboration with Jefferson Hack and Christopher Simmonds. Personally i love them. I love how he has cast new faces as the featured models, Lucan and Oliver, and not just stuck a celebrity or girl of the moment like Cara Delevigne at the forefront (as beautiful as she is, is it just me who’s slightly sick of seeing her EVERYWHERE?). I love the muted colours – the beige, the grey, the navy – and how they are made interesting through fabric selection and cut. I love the juxtaposition of textures – the use of the car objects, from oliver’s metallic car door to the soft piece of car carpet that Lucan holds.
Simply styled and beautifully shot i think JW Anderson should be very proud of his debut campaign images. What do you think??
