Today’s Wish List

I always have a huge wish list that’s constantly changing. However, these three items are currently at the very top. What do you think?
 1.  Peter Jensen never fails to disappoint in the print department. This shirt from Asos has gorgeous tie detailing and the all-over ant pattern is oh so cute. This shirt would look great dressed up with a knee length pencil skirt and heels, or equally dressed down with some high-waisted denim shorts and superga trainers.

2.This bag from Sophie Hulme works with any outfit, its the perfect size for a clutch but doesn’t look too small when converted into a shoulder bag. Accessory perfection.

3. I’ve come to the conclusion that i’m a definite magpie and drawn to shiny things.  I’m in love with these Marni shoes on Net-A-Porter. They are seriously jazzy and would smarten up a drab outfit in an instant. Love the gold on black and the glossy finish.

Pretty in Pink

I am by no means a girly girl. My day to day colour palette of choice is monochrome; crisp whites, sharp blacks and easy greys. Aside from these shades, i also love navy blue – it goes with everything and a subtle touch of metallic or fluoro added to the aforementioned helps to add interest to an outfit. Recently however, i’ve been really drawn to pinks. Maybe it’s the weather, or maybe it’s the fact that i now have a slight tan,  but i can’t seem to get enough of the girlish shade. I love to play around with the colour and mix it up in androgynous shapes or teaming pink in flirty fits with mannish brogues. Pink doesn’t have to be worn in a prissy prissy princess way. It can definitely look quirky, sophisticated or any other look you are going for. You just need the right pieces. Below are my top pink picks…
I LOVE this dress from Antipodium. The patent collar is juxtaposed beautifully with the feminine pleating.

Heels VS Flats

Comfortable, practical and stylish; flats = no wobbling around, no achey feet and few surfaces to avoid. They rarely look try hard, they can be worn casual or smart and they are a favourite of guys with tall girlfriends.

Heels on the other hand are wonderfully flattering, leg elongating and graceful. The right pair adds pure elegance to any outfit.  Giving height to those of us who crave it, heels are a wardrobe essential.

Beautiful Bags: Sophie Hulme

It’s got to the point where i really want need a nice bag. I’m fed up of being canvas tote lady; that weird girl walking round with hundreds of totes hanging from her arms. I have a collection of free ones from fashion weeks that have been put to seriously good use, and although they are immensely useful and the perfect size, for posh restaurants and nights out they just don’t cut the mustard… The solution to my above grumblings is Sophie Hulme. Offering a beautiful selection of leather totes, her collection of bags are a great size and the perfect shape. Distinctive and stylish, they have reached cult status amid the fashion set and the signature brass hardware looks amazing juxtaposed next to the leather. They are a good price point as well for those who can’t splash out on a Chanel or Louis Vuitton but are wanting something more than a high-street number.

This bag in duck egg blue would look so chic paired with a simple white shirt and skinny jeans.or if it’s a burst of colour you’re after, why not go for the same style in burgundy.

Hats on or hats off?

I have to say, I struggle with hats. Poser-y? Try-hard? Awkward? Under what circumstance does one remove it? Is it acceptable to wear it indoors? and when one takes it off, where does one put it? Needless to say my total hat count is a big fat zero…Don’t get me wrong, I’m actually a big fan of hats. I love seeing glamorous women in wide brimmed wonders or hipsters in their printed snap backs. It is a mere beanie that completes that Cara Delevigne grungy look, whilst the straw hat is a pleasure to see in summer.

I have bought two hats and taken both back…However i’ve decided instead of adopting a friends hat mid evening i am going to take the plunge and hope it’ll be third time lucky.

Where do you stand on hat etiquette? are you hats on or hats off?

Andy Murray and Precision Whites

Ending Britain’s excruciating 77 year wait for a Men’s Wimbledon Champion, yesterday Andy Murray conquered tennis’ world no. 1, Novak Djokovic, in 3 sets to win the British tournament. Showered with cheers and drenched in sunshine, shocked Murray lifted his long-awaited trophy – hopefully one of many. What did you think of the match? As a celebration of Murray’s win and a tribute to Wimbledon, i thought it only apt to do a post on a favourite summer trend of mine. Precision Whites. From sporty numbers that could actually be worn on court, to chic white pieces that ooze sophistication, see my top white picks below and let me know what you think!

(You can read a more detailed account of his win in the Guardian)

Love these white dungarees at Topshop, they’re great for the summer and would look great alone or over a navy and white breton tee.
